Our Place is a direct-to-consumer lifestyle cookware and dinnerware brand that was founded by Shiza Shahid in 2018. After the overwhelming success of the Always Pan, Our Place has expanded its offerings to include cutlery, dinnerware, cups, and even special holiday collections.
The hand-painted porcelain plates and bowls are available à la carte in 4- or 8-piece sets, or you can buy the Set the Table Bundle. For $120 (a $15 savings), you get four Main Plates, four Side Plates, and four Side Bowls. You can select your preferred color for each piece of the set, Spice, Steam, or Char—go for a mix-and-match vibe or a monochromatic aesthetic.
I used Our Place dinnerware for a week's worth of meals—here's what happened
Our Place Plates

The Our Place Main Plate is the perfect size for my preferred desk lunch: a grazing board/cheese plate combo.
Right off the batt, these plates reminded me of something I'd see at a hip restaurant or natural wine bar (in a good way). The Main Plates measure 9.75 inches in diameter and 0.75 inches in height, while the Side Plates are 7.5 inches in diameter. There's a small lip on each plate to keep liquid from spilling onto your dining room table, which I found to be incredibly helpful during testing.
I served dinner on the Main Plates and was delighted by how easy it was to make my meals look gorgeous. Seriously, these plates are built for stunning presentation, and even if your entree is relatively small on the large plate, the minimalism looks 100% intentional. The Side Plates are ideal for appetizers, salads, or dessert.
Our Place Side Bowls

Our Place's bowls were almost too big for my breakfast, but I didn't mind the extra room.
The Our Place Side Bowls are 6 inches across and 2.75 inches deep, making them appropriate for mixing sauces, dressings, and other accompaniments, or for sizable servings of soup, chili, and myriad breakfast items. Admittedly, they were a bit on the large side for my morning yogurt and granola, but I'd rather my bowls be too big than too small.
While the straight 2.75-inch sides of each bowl can amount to quite the impressive tower when all four are stacked, they create ample height room for using these bowls as cooking vessels. And it's not every day that a cereal bowl can double as a mixing bowl!
Are they easy to clean and store?
Yes! I hand-washed my plates and bowls with ease, but Our Place dinnerware is completely dishwasher-safe. I didn't notice any discoloration once they dried and I'm obsessed with how well the plates and bowls stack.

The Side Bowls are large enough to make entire components of dishes and then serve, like this lemony cucumber and herb salad.
