This old man, he is dumb, he played knickknack with some rum. The geezer in question is, naturally, yours truly. And I am floored to tell you that in order to get new flooring in the dining room and the living room of my house, I moved approximately 1,387 knickknacks, tchotchkes (I had to look up how to spell that) and, yes, bottles of booze from one room to another. I would have swept it all under the rug, except that we needed new rugs in both rooms to replace the magic carpets that were pulled up and left on the curb. Curated Displays

People collect all kinds of things: pottery and silverware, sure, but also souvenir Statues of Liberty, vintage quilts, geodes, wind-up toy snails, manual typewriters, seascapes, wax fruit, and tiny succulent houseplants. Regardless of the value (or even the quality) of a collection, how it is displayed makes the difference between its being clutter and art. In a curated display, the whole is more than the sum of its parts. Separate objects become a unit that tells a story. Reunited, Running, and It Feels so Good

November 14, 2021, I ran the 10k Fat Ass Trail Race in Batawa, Ontario, just north of Trenton. I was the second woman to cross the line, and an old rival, Shannon McMinn, was the first. We were 7th and 8th overall out of 86 runners, finishing 13 seconds apart. Two weeks to the day earlier, I had become an aunt, so I dedicated my silver medal finish to my brand new baby nephew.
