    • Sheet pan dinners are easy, healthy meals that require no additional sides.
    • Prep time is minimal (all you have to do is place your ingredients on the sheet pan) and the oven does most of the work.
    • Cleanup is very easy because everything cooks together on one pan.
    • The combinations are endless so they're great for using up any leftover meat or produce you have on hand.

    How to make sheet pan dinners

    1. Choose your protein. Just about any type of protein imaginable can be used in sheet pan dinners! Chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp are very popular. If you're looking for plant-based proteins, you can try tofu or canned chickpeas. All of these options work with a variety of veggies and sauces.
    2. Choose your vegetables. Once you've got a protein picked, fill up the rest of your sheet pan with vegetables. I love using whatever I have on hand in the fridge. Broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, bell peppers…seriously, anything goes! One thing to keep an eye on is varying cook times for different veggies but other than that, you can make anything work.
    3. Make an easy marinade. Finish off the meal by pouring on a homemade marinade before popping your sheet pan in the over. I typically combine pantry staples together, like a flavoured oil with a type of acid (vinegar, lemon juice, etc.) and a third ingredient such as garlic and/or dijon mustard. Need more inspiration?     What size sheet pan should I use?

    I recommend using a half-sheet pan for these sheet pan dinners which is 13″ x 18″. This size allows you to cook a meal for a family of four on one pan.

    What should I serve with these recipes?

    These sheet pan meals are definitely filling on their own with proteins and vegetables, but if you'd like to add an extra side, you can serve them rice or bread.

    Can you use frozen veggies for sheet pan dinners?

    Yes, you can! You can roast frozen vegetables in the oven without needing to thaw them first. Keep in mind they will take extra time to cook and the texture may be different than what it'd be if you cooked fresh vegetables.

    Can you freeze sheet pan dinners?

    While you can certainly try freezing some sheet pan dinners, I don't like how some of the vegetables turn out after being reheated. To avoid soggy vegetables, I'd recommend just freezing the proteins in these recipes. All these recipes last 3-5 days, so you should be able to get through any leftovers you have before they go bad!
