Crockpot Ham

This crockpot ham is not only easy to prepare, but also impressive enough to serve for a big holiday dinner. Perfect for Easter!

crockpot ham

One of my family traditions for Easter dinner is a brown sugar pineapple ham. This is one of the easiest recipes to make a special occasion.  What I love best about this easy recipe is that it creates a flavorful ham with only minutes of prep time. The best part is that it frees up oven space for your favorite side dishes, such as air fryer green beans and air fryer asparagus.

Instead of using the glaze packet that comes with the spiral ham, I like to use a few simple ingredients which makes it an easy way to customize and tastes fresher than the commercial brown sugar glaze. This simple recipe creates a juicy ham that will become a family favorite.

My favorite way to serve this slow cooker ham is to slice and place ham on a serving platter with pineapple rings for an impressive holiday meal for a large group. This easy crock pot ham typically produces plenty of leftovers, perfect for a weeknight meal and to use in my breakfast strata and ham and potato casserole with broccoli.

Crockpot Ham Ingredients

  • Bone-in Ham – Make sure to get a precooked ham, and I prefer a sliced spiral cut ham.
  • Brown Sugar – Light brown sugar works best in this recipe.
  • Pineapple Juice – I prefer fresh pineapple juice, but bottled or canned will work just fine.
  • Maple Syrup – Make sure it is pure maple syrup, not the artificial maple flavored syrup. Honey can also be substituted for maple syrup.

How to Make Crockpot Ham

Spray an 8 quart crockpot with non stick cooking spray and place the bone-in ham cut side down. Rub the brown sugar on the outside of the ham then pour the pineapple juice and maple syrup over the top of the ham.

Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 140ºF – remember, the ham is already fully cooked so it just needs to be reheated with an added burst of flavor. Remove ham from the crockpot, slice and enjoy!

Best Tips for Reheating & Storing

  • Make sure to slice the entire ham before storing it in an airtight container for leftovers.
  • To prevent the ham from drying out, I prefer to reheat in the oven.
  • You can freeze the ham bone for soups or making broths.
