Easy Bison Steak Ingredients

    • 2 Bison Steaks
    • pinch of salt
    • 1 clove crushed garlic
    • 1 tsp minced rosemary
    • 1 tsp pepper
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil

    Easy Bison Steak Directions

    1. Toss the steaks into a ziploc bag with all the other ingredients.
    2. Squish the mixture around. Let marinade for about an hour in the fridge.
    3. Toss on a semi-hot grill (or under a broiler) and cook to your taste.

    Bison Cooking Tips

    • Because of the lack of marbling (that means fat), bison needs to be cooked at a lower temperature than that used for beef.
    • Move your broiler rack a step lower in your oven than you would use for beef. Be sure to shorten the cooking time.
    • Grill away from the center and use a slightly lower temp. than you would for a beef steak.

We served it with grilled portobello mushrooms and sautéed asparagus (which now that I think about it we should have grilled that too!).

Another option is this quick and healthy salad. We simply chopped and sautéed two bison sausage links and added to a chopped salad. Healthy and satisfying lunch that won't leave you looking for sweets after the meal. For more recipes check out www.highplainsbison.com/categories
