Vegetable Soup with Pesto

Broth-based vegetable soup can sometimes feel a bit “meh,” but this one is far from it. It’s filled to the brim with fresh garden goodness — zucchini, peas, carrots, and celery — and the addition of zesty pesto sauce and Parmigianno-Reggiano cheese at serving time really ramps up the flavor. The soup also includes a bit of orzo, a tiny, rice-shaped pasta, ensuring it is not only wholesome but also satisfying. You can serve the soup as a light standalone meal with a side of garlic bread or pair it with gooey grilled cheese sandwiches. What’s really great is how quick and easy it is to prepare. Once you’ve got your veggies chopped, you’re only 25 minutes away from a...

Roasted Radishes with Creamy Kefir Green Goddess Dressing

by Aimee Happy summer! This beautiful vegetarian dish is perfectly simple and seasonal. Roasted radishes are paired with a vibrant green goddess dressing featuring creamy kefir – and the result is a cravable, colourful salad or appetizer. I know it’s tempting to move on from radishes, but my garden patch is still producing the pretty pink root veggies. I’m currently obsessed with this recipe, so I decided to share it here. Kefir Green Goddess My teen helped me film this recipe for a Reel, and afterward we devoured it together. He declared the green goddess sauce to be amazing – and a new favourite. Since then we’ve been making it for roast potatoes, grilled chicken and more. The kefir brings...

Evernight, Battersea

Knowing we would be having dinner at Evernight I thought aperitifs at Homeboy Battersea, just around the corner in the same building, would be a nice way to kick off the evening. I was at Homeboy a couple of years ago just after it had opened, was treated to a very decent burger and ice cold martini and left thinking that, well, perhaps this weird overdeveloped bit of Legoland Embassyville with its floating swimming pools and Thamesview gyms with floor-to-ceiling windows was worth the occasional visit after all. I've always had a soft spot for Darby's, too, also nearby. But a strange thing happened when I tried to Google the Homeboy location - it kept redirecting me to Homeboy Islington...
